Karm Marg Charitable Society was registered in 1997 when a group of destitute children and adolescents came together to create a long term care home of their own liking and choice, with the visionary founder Veena Lal. Her role was to ensure that their needs become part of the design of Karm Marg’s model. Over the last 22 years, KM embeds their need for dignity in an environment that mindfully nurtures their own potential in a way that they blossom into self-reliant and socially engaged adults.

At KM, beyond shelter, nutrition, health and medical care, children are counselled and given the full range of choices on formal education, distance learning through open school, home schooling, extra curricular learning and vocational training.

Often children come to us with moderate to severe behavioural, emotional and psychological issues due to their life experiences. Our USP is the unconditional acceptance, love and individual attention given to each child who becomes a part of our family. Peer support and learning is key. We live a semi rural, socially aware, zero waste lifestyle with exposure to in-house natural farming, solar power generation, composting etc with many rescued dogs, cats, ducks, hens, all of which successfully offers an integral part of social therapy.

Many of our staff are alumni which makes holding onto our vision easier as years go by. This is also what makes KM a home and family to come back to and cherish forever.

We also go beyond and reach out to the community to share our resources and learning. Currently were engaged in battling against the effects of Covid 19 by providing support to migrant daily wager families keeping a special focus on children and stray animals too.
